Assemblymember Juan Alanis expressed his disappointment following the California Supreme Court's decision to remove the Taxpayer Protection and Government Accountability Act from the November 5th ballot. Alanis stated, "I’m very disappointed to hear that the Taxpayer Protection and Government Accountability Act will not appear on the November 5th ballot. The electorate in California should have been able to decide the status of this initiative at the ballot box, as the state constitution allows."
