Assemblymember Juan Alanis hosted a Town Hall in Ceres, California, at the Ceres Community Center to discuss affordability issues at both state and local levels. The event featured a panel that included Ceres Mayor Javier Lopez, Ceres City Councilmember Rosalinda Vierra, CEO of the Stanislaus Latino Chamber Johnny Garcia, Turlock Irrigation District’s Monique Hampton, and Assemblymember Juan Alanis.
The evening event was open to the public, allowing constituents to ask questions related to the housing crisis, gas prices, healthcare coverage, homeowner’s insurance, and vocational training for those unable to afford traditional college pathways. Questions were posed in person, through an online survey, or via live stream chat.
“I am incredibly pleased with the success of my fourth Town Hall in the past year,” said Assemblymember Alanis. “It’s my fifth town hall since being elected to represent the 22nd Assembly District. I love giving my constituents the opportunity to ask tough questions, and I want to thank the panelists who took time to offer their valuable expertise and provide answers and resources to our community members.”
Assemblymember Alanis expressed his intention to continue hosting Town Halls in the future: “I look forward to hosting more Town Halls in the future and discussing issues that are most important to our communities.”
This affordability discussion marked Alanis's fifth Town Hall. He has previously attended or hosted similar events in Turlock (Turlock Government Night), Modesto (Fentanyl and General), and Gustine (Education).
