Assemblymember Juan Alanis has been appointed to four additional policy committees for the 2025-26 legislative session. Speaker Robert Rivas selected Alanis for the Assembly Committees on Business and Professions, Natural Resources, Public Employment and Retirement, and Water, Parks and Wildlife.
Alanis expressed gratitude for this opportunity, stating, “I am truly grateful to Speaker Rivas and Republican Leader Gallagher for giving me the opportunity to continue my work in improving the lives of my constituents and all Californians.” He highlighted challenges faced by the California Central Valley, such as increased costs of living and regulatory mandates affecting agriculture and small businesses. Alanis emphasized his commitment to advocating for changes that would benefit his communities.
These new roles come after Alanis' reappointment as Vice Chair of the Assembly Agriculture and Public Safety Committees. He remarked on the importance of these committees in addressing key issues like reducing living costs, supporting law enforcement, fostering business growth, and ensuring water resources for agriculture. “These committees will allow me to engage on key issues crucial to the communities I represent,” he said.
Alanis represents California's 22nd Assembly District, which includes Modesto, Turlock, Ceres, Denair, Patterson, Gustine, Newman, Hilmar, Ballico, Snelling, Keyes, Grayson, Crows Landing, Diablo Grande, Stevinson & Empire.
