Assemblymember Juan Alanis has been reappointed as Vice Chairman for the Assembly Committees on Agriculture and Public Safety, as announced today. Speaker Robert Rivas confirmed the decision, marking Alanis's third consecutive year in this role for Public Safety and his second for Agriculture.
“I’m grateful to both Speaker Rivas and Republican Leader Gallagher for entrusting me to serve again as the Vice-Chair of the Assembly Standing Committees on Agriculture and Public Safety,” stated Assemblymember Alanis. He emphasized that these roles allow him to provide leadership on critical policy areas affecting his district and the broader California community.
The 22nd Assembly District, represented by Alanis, is a significant producer of agricultural products globally. His extensive experience in law enforcement provides him with a distinct perspective in his committee roles. “I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to build consensus on common sense policies that ease the financial burdens on working families, support our agricultural industry, and enhance the safety of our children, businesses, and communities,” added Alanis.
During his initial two years in office, Alanis has successfully authored and passed 16 bills into law. He is recognized as a prominent figure in criminal justice matters and advocates strongly for agriculture in Sacramento.
Assemblymember Juan Alanis serves the 22nd Assembly District, encompassing Modesto, Turlock, Ceres, Denair, Patterson, Gustine, Newman, Hilmar, Ballico, Snelling, Keyes, Grayson, Crows Landing, Diablo Grande, Stevinson & Empire.
