A bill introduced in the California State Assembly proposes offering tax credits to fast food franchise owners who employ apprentices aged 16 to 22 for more than six months. Assembly Bill 244, currently referred to the Assembly Committee on Labor and Employment, aims to encourage businesses to provide apprenticeship opportunities for young people.

If enacted, the legislation would create incentives for franchise owners in the fast food industry to hire and retain apprentices by reducing their tax burden based on the number of eligible apprentices they employ.
